Rev. Ruth Everhart was ordained in 1990 and has served in ministry since then. She especially enjoys the intimacy and warmth of small churches, and has served as the solo pastor for three of them, including a decade at Poolesville Presbyterian, in upper Montgomery County. She has served at Hermon Presbyterian Church since 2016.
In addition to being a pastor, Rev. Everhart is an author whose writing explores the tender places where faith intersects with everyday life. Rev. Everhart earned a BA from Calvin College (Grand Rapids, MI) and a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities (New Brighton, MN). She lives in Sterling, Virginia, with her husband, Douglas, who teaches 6th grade Science for Loudoun County Public Schools. The couple has two grown daughters who live in the area.
